Companies must focus on raw materials with less impact on the environment and shop floors with a strong focus on recycling and reuse of waste

Companies must start to elaborate the potential to use new materials that have less impact on the environment and to optimize the shop floor tooling for assembling with green manufacturing practices and reuse of waste in mind. Personally I do want to have the transparency into the supply chain and manufacturing processes involved in creating my products. It’s not just for me, I think it is also a chance for companies to detect undesirable details which lead to new improvements of products. But it is quite difficult to get these insights today - I belief it is time that companies provide more insights into the manufacturing process and share the information with consumers and authorities. Responsible companies will modernize their factory shop floors in order to reduce energy consumption, waste and increase the wellbeing of their workforce. Furthermore companies must start to practice the concept of circular economy and must check how they can adapt this concept into their existing value chain. Raw material creates waste. Think about how to handle a raw material end to end and use raw material where waste can be reversed into a closed loop system and leveraged by other business partners to create value. It is important to identify the core drivers for waste - then you can optimize the value chain accordingly. Companies must shift from a traditional Take-Make-Use-Dispose linear approach towards an Earn-Make-Recover-Reverse circular approach. Connect the dots and leverage machine learning and data intelligence to collect, analyze, predict, share and communicate cause and effect of manufacturing actions for all business partners in your value chain. Reward new ideas and constantly challenge the as-is in order to get better and to help the environment, the planet and to foster wellbeing. Here are some great examples of role model companies that leverage regenerative practices to optimize their manufacturing approach.

🌎 Understand the impact of your manufacturing processes and facilities

🌎 Elaborate the benefits of using new materials that reduce your impact on the environment

🌎 Introduce manufacturing methods of closed loops which allow all participants to benefit

I believe it is time to revolutionize the way we do business. It is time for a Purpose-driven Wellbeing Economy. But to achieve this goal we need new manufacturing methods which reduce the impact on the environment, provide more transparency and allow new manufacturing practices which support a true Circular Economy. What do you think?
